For many, he is the greatest artist in the history of football, a perfect culmination of the past, a seemingly unreachable blueprint for the future, and the absolute pinnacle of the beautiful game.

accolades represent fulfillment, and Messi has found domestic and international
success with club and country, winning almost everything he ever could
have. He has etched his name into history books. Messi’s trophies aren’t his
