A worth watching horror-mystery movie

Director: Alex Merkin

Genre: Horror, Mystery & Thriller

Streaming: Netflix

Star Cast: Jeni Ross, Mark Ghanime, Hamza Haq, Kathyrn Davis, Dennis Andres, and Brianna Barnes.

Netflix's recent release is one terrific trip. Even with subpar dialogue, this gory film is sure to leave you twisted.

The story of a father-daughter duo who participated in an escape room in order to bond over the experience, soon stumble upon three other participants taking part in the same activity. However, the group soon find themselves trapped and learns that each room is an elaborate trap that is a part of a sadistic game of life and death.

The lead actors, Mark Ghanime and Jeni Ross, delivered strong performances that added genuine warmth to the film. The final scene had me captivated with it's haunting visuals and a score that perfectly complimented each other, creating a spooky atmosphere.

The movie shines with its horror elements, including fine jump scares and enduring dread. In the end, "No Escape Room" is a thrilling and bloody encounter that no horror fanatic should miss.

Heart Of Stone

Alia debut's with Heart of Stone

Directed: Tom Harper

Genre: Action, Mystery & Thriller, Crime

Platform: Netflix

Star Cast: Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt, Sophie Okonedo, Matthias and Schweighofer

Release Date: August 11, 2023

Heart of Stone is a fascinating action movie streaming on Netflix that will keep you hooked the entire time. The movie features good action, thrills, and clever twists. The star cast's performance was versatile and certain moments of the film turned out rather good. Gal Gadot was a pleasure to watch. Alia Bhatt made her Hollywood debut with this movie.

The film has a captivating storyline full of surprises, tension and twists. The only criticisms worth mentioning are few pointless attempts at humor which were neither cheesy nor "baddy" enough to draw audience attention.

The plot is very obvious and does not give opportunity for other series to come out. Alternately, it may continue indefinitely with new thrills and a fresh plot.

Alia and Gal Gadot have my heart. If you are searching for action-packed entertainment with praise worthy acting, “Heart of Stone” on Netflix is a must watch that will keep you fascinated until the very last frame.

GADAR 2

New bottle, Old wine: Gadar 2

Directed By: Anil Sharma

Genre: Action, adventure and Drama

Platform: Theatrical release

Star cast: Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Gaurav Chopra, Manish Wadhwa, and Simrat Kaur.

Gadar Ek Prem Katha, which was released in 2001, an acclaimed a masterpiece back then. The legacy continues after 22 years, causing a tsunami at the box office this month.

"Gadar 2" is a film that tugs at the heartstrings with its high nostalgic value, taking us back to the iconic original "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha."

Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel reprise their roles with conviction, reminding us of the charisma that made the original a blockbuster. Their chemistry still shines through, and they play their parts well. What I truly enjoyed and loved were the recreated versions of the songs: Main Nikla Gadi Leke and Udd Ja Kale Kaavan. They are the soul of the film and take you back in time.

In order to give you the impression that this is a sequel to Gadar, director Anil Sharma goes to great lengths, and as a result, the film's release feels like it is over 22 years overdue. The fall shorts is in its storyline. While it capitalises on the emotions and fervour of the prequel, it lacks a compelling narrative to sustain the audience's interest throughout the movie. The plot feels disjointed at times, leaving viewers wanting more depth and coherence.

Despite its shortcomings, "Gadar 2" can be watched at least once for the sheer nostalgia it evokes and the powerful performances by the lead actors. Die-hard fans of the original will find moments to cherish, but those seeking a strong storyline might be left wanting.

Guns and Gulaabs

Guns and Gulaabs: An opportunity missed

Director: Raj & DK

Genre: Dark Comedy, Crime and Thriller

Star cast: Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, Gulshan Devaiah, TJ Bhanu Parvati Murti, Pooja A Gor, Satish Kaushik, and Varun Badola

Platform: Netflix

"Guns and Gulaabs", takes viewers on a nostalgic journey to the 90s, which in itself is a charming aspect of the show.

The premise introduces us to the world of Panna Tipu, Arjun Verma, Chhota Ganchi, and Four Cut Atmaram, promising an ensemble of intriguing characters.

The show boasts a stellar cast with Rajkummar Rao and Dulquer Salmaan in prominent roles, raising expectations considerably. While the performances are commendable, the storyline disappointingly falls into predictability. It leans heavily on the nostalgia factor, but fails to deliver a fresh or compelling narrative.

The seven-episode series does manage to blend elements of thriller and dark comedy, keeping the audience engaged to some extent. However, the potential for a gripping plot is left largely untapped. Viewers hoping for Kumar and DK's signature blend of quirk and suspense may find themselves longing for more.

In conclusion, "Guns and Gulaabs" offers a trip down memory lane to the 90s, with strong performances from its cast, but it ultimately falls short in terms of delivering an innovative storyline. While it's worth a watch for fans of the era and the directors, it doesn't quite live up to the high expectations set by its talented ensemble.

Made In Heaven

Season 2 pitch back into the magnificence of weddings, intolerable truths, and a great deal of twisted drama.

Directed and created by: Nitya Mehra, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Prashant Nair, Alankrita Shrivastava, Neeraj Ghaywan

Genre: Drama, Romance

Star cast : Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Mona Singh, Trinetra Haldar

Platform: Amazon prime

After a long wait of four years, Made in Heaven returns with its highly anticipated second season. The second season shows the continuation of the story of Tara and Karan as they face personal and professional troubles, which keeps the story charming.

The outstanding portrayal of societal issues in MIH 2 is one of its most notable features. The show bravely addresses issues like caste prejudice, gender injustice, and LGBTQ+ rights while exposing the continuous problems people in modern India confront. These concerns are presented in a thought-provoking manner that encourages viewers to have significant discussions.

Character development remains a strong suit of the show. Tara and Karan expand their personal arcs and become more empathetic. The supporting cast, which includes well-known performers like Neelam, Sanjay Kapoor, Mona Singh, and others, also does a fantastic job of bringing all the many characters to life and giving them each their own interesting stories. Consisting of seven episodes, each episode questions the descriptions of "happily ever after". Each episode presents a different story, which revolves around the main story.

However, the second season is not without its flaws. The pacing can be uneven at times, with certain storylines feeling rushed while others drag on.

This season has captivating storytelling, powerful performances, and touching social commentary. Fans of the first season will not be disappointed, and it is likely to attract new viewers with its engaging narrative and insightful social observations.

Hoping this might you for the coming week, so, until next time.
