It’s almost the end of the year, and now it’s the right time to watch some good content during the winter holidays. And there are so many options to choose from, for the upcoming shows. JournaScreen recommends a few shows to watch.

Inventing Anna

Based on the true story of Anna Sorokin, a Russian born German con artist who lived a glamorous life posing as a German heiress under the name Anna Delvey in New York City is coming to Netflix in the upcoming year.

The plot revolves around a journalist who investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the convicted fraudster, who pretended to be a wealthy German heiress in order to defraud banks, hotels and wealthy acquaintances.

The show stars Julia Garner, Anna Chlumsky, Katie Lowes, Alexis Floyd, Arian Moayed, Anders Holm, Anna Deavere Smith, Jeff Perry, Terry Kinney and Jennifer Esposito.

Pieces Of Her

Based on the eponymous 2018 bestselling novel by Karin Slaughter, Pieces of Her is an upcoming American thriller drama that tells the story of the love, strength and forgiveness after a daughter learned that her mother had kept hidden significant pieces of her life.

The show turns suspenseful and thrilling when an afternoon outing explodes into violence; a young woman’s view of her mother is forever changed.

This upcoming Netflix series was created by Charlotte Stoudt stars Toni Collette, Bella Heathcote, Nicholas Burton, Gessica Barden, Jacob Scipio, Gil Birmingham, Joe Dempsie, Aaron Geffery, Omari Hardwick, David Wenham and Calum Worthy.

Aranyak

When two miss-matched hill-station cops navigate a web of suspects after puzzling murder, political ploys, personal agendas and a beasty myth all come to the surface.

This layered crime thriller deals with the aftermath of the disappearance of a foreign teenage tourist in a misty town, the local cop, Kasturi must join hands with her city bread replacement Angad on a case that digs up skeletons and revives an old myth of a bloodthirsty entity in the forest.

This dark series stars Raveena Tandon, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ashutosh Rana, Zakir Hussain and Meghna Malik.

Decoupled

This unfiltered dramedy series follows a misanthropic writer and his start-up founder wife who announced their divorce with a party that ends up exposing other absurd relationships and annoyances of life in their affluent world.

This offbeat show stars Madhavan and Survin Chawla, written by Manu Joseph and directed by Hardik Mehta.

Tiktiki

Based on sleuth, the famous 1970 play by Anthony Shaffer, this Bengali web series tells the story of the protagonist SatyaSindhu who writes detective stories and is weirdly obsessed with dangerous make-believe kings. In his wife’s absence, he invites her lover Bimal and forces him to one of such games. These games become a challenge and a duel between the two, each of whom seeks victory. What follows is yet another mystery with a twist.

The series features Anirban Bhattacharya and Koushik Ganguly, the two greatest Bengali actors in one frame.
